Hi! I’m Zuhra
I’m a journalist, social media specialist, content creator, and communication specialist with experience in digital storytelling, brand communications, and audience engagement.
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Zuhra’s upbringing was immersed in one of the most diverse Canadian cities, enriched with culture, art and various ethnic backgrounds. Zuhra’s perspective in Toronto has led to the inspiration and pursuit of diversity and representation across Canadian media. She is a graduate from Carleton’s University’s Journalism School where she pursued her Masters and graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor’s in Media Studies and Communications
Now based in Windsor Ontario, Zuhra has spent time storytelling for CBC News Windsor, and has focused on content creation for local brands and digital storytelling. Her work has appeared in CBC News, CTV News Toronto, CP24 Breakfast, the Globe and Mail, Ottawa Citizen, CKCU FM Radio and Capital Current.
She is a recipient of the 2024 Canadian Journalism Foundation BJF Fellowship, received an honorary mention by J-Schools Canada for her work reporting on BIPOC communities and has been awarded the Broke Forbes Award upon her time at the Globe and Mail, The Decibel Podcast.
